Meeting/Potluck - Feb 24 '06

Academics and Appetites Over 20 people showed up at the potluck, and everybody brought books and laptops for an intense study session of Foucault's philosophy of punishment and Bentham's treatise on the panopticon. Before we started, Bill, the co-host, cheerfully met everybody at the door and made sure we were all comfortable. Aimie and Sandrah were overjoyed when the food was served, but first they led a toast to the upcoming discussion of Foucault and the panopticon. Jim and Aimie were too busy eating to join the discussion, while Steve explains to Michelle, with the others listening in, the advantages of logit regression over path analysis in assessing recidivism input variables. Steve, Josh, and Jim are caught, with Josh whispering to Steve about the salad somebody spilled on Jim's lap. Steve, Mike, Erica, Eric, and Bernard have decided that Foucault probably shouldn't be discussed at potlucks. Erica, Bernard, Cliff and Javier are finishing up before they're quized on Jacob's STATEVILLE, and the rest of the pictures are of people reading and debating, and too boring to put up. Apologies to those whose pictures were left out - we'll just have to do it again in May.
