Planning the Spring '07 semester
About 19 people came to the November 18 potluck at Ericas. Sadly, we didn't think to get the camera until almost everybody left, but a few still remained. Fortunately, there was a house to remain in, but the fire Jim and Matt started in the barbeque grill was under control, thanks to Sophia, who just put the lid on the grill. The first round of burgers and brats didn't fare quite as well, though. Steve and Matt saved the day watching over the rest of the cooking, and burgers, brats, and lots of barbeque brisket and barbeque pork were snatched up. Jim brought the burnt burgers home for chili. Aimie, Darryl, and Felicia get a bit more food to help reduce left-overs, while Felicia calls Magic-Maid to do the dishes. Aimie just heard Mike discuss the origins of the panopticon, and Sharaelle and Rebecca get set to perform, in pantomime, Foucault's complete "Discipline and Punish," and gave a quiz afterward. Mike and Matt just learn that there's a school in East Lansing called.....we forget. Not the one that lost to Ohio State, but the other one, while Erica and Felicia think about the December field trips coming up. Sadly, the night draws to a close with Steve explaining crim theory to Aimie, who's resting up for a police test at 7 a.m. We missed pictures of most of the people, but we will have our Spring potluck in a few months. In the meantime, get set for tours over Christmas break, an NIU-ACA student paper competition in the spring, a guest speaker, and gearing up for the ACA convention in Kansas City in August.
